The International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts (IAFA) is a non-profit organization, incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in the state of Florida. The purpose of the IAFA is to promote and recognize achievement in the study of the fantastic.

The Association is governed by an Executive Board, most of whose members are elected by IAFA members. The Board appoints other officers to perform specialized tasks such as IT support, accounting, and organizing the annual conference as well as the division heads who review and organize presentations for the conference.
